As noted earlier today the Playstation 2 is dropping twenty dollars to $129.99.
And we ask, why didn?t they go all the way to $99? I think I know why. The PS3.
Sony cut the price of the Playstation 2 today, lopping $20 off the previous retail price. The console can now be had for $129.99 in American and $139.99 in Canada. A PS2 price drop has been expected for quite some time, though many speculated Sony would aim for the golden $99 price point. Could this be a sign of the PS3 releasing soon?

Yesterday Japanese news website, Impress, reported that the Final Fantasy XI development team gave some detail about their plans for next generation consoles and Windows Vista.
